Provides in-depth, individualized instruction in assistive technology and techniques to maximize independent use of assistive and mainstream computer hardware/software. This course is intended to improve students' ability to participate in general activities, programs and classes offered by the college and improve their potential for success in college-level courses. Cognitive Communication Skills and Strategies  1 UNITS

Students with cognitive communication deficits will receive specialized instruction in attention, concentration, thought organization, memory strategies, social pragmatics skills, organization and time management skills, and maximizing related communication skills. The course emphasizes the development of skills and functional compensatory strategies to enhance disabled students' opportunities for academic success. May be taken for a maximum of 4 units.
